How Do I Love Thee? Let Me Count the Ways

February is the month of love.  Meanwhile, our pets will look around wondering when their special day is.  Valentine’s Day is not just about romantic love.  It is a time to celebrate the love we share with friends, those on two legs and four.  Rover’s Recess has some ideas about how you can show your pet that you love them.

Go On A Walk

Going for walks is a great bonding opportunity.  Taking your dog for a stroll this Valentine’s Day will remind him or her just how special they are.  Life can get too hectic for daily excursions.  That’s where Rover’s Recess can help.  But this month, take thirty minutes out of your day and head on out with your beloved pup.  It will be an enriching moment for you and your dog.

New Clothes

Great clothes make everyone feel special.  Animal apparel has come a long way in recent years and you can find something for just about any animal.  Your furry loved one will turn heads in their new clothes and people will have to pay attention and give them some love.  Our pets appreciate attention and affection just like we do.  A new look is just the things that will make pets of any kind feel special.

Homemade Treats

Food makes everyone feel loved.  It warms our stomachs and it warms our hearts.  Of course treats should be reserved for special occasions like Valentine’s Day.  Pet-safe recipes for treats can be found online.  They are typically quick, easy and inexpensive.  Taking the time to bake your fur buddy some treats will put a smile on his or her face that will last for days.

New Toys

There is a reason we call our pets fur children.  They are big kids.  Just like human kids, our pets love toys.  Think about getting your dog a new chew toy, or your cat a new toy to chase around, or a new feature for your lizard’s terrarium.  They will appreciate it and their excitement will make your heart happy.

Spa Day

Everyone deserves to be pampered occasionally.  Animals have stress just like humans and need a way to relieve that stress.  Pet spas are popping up everywhere.  You can do it yourself if you want to save some money.  Give your pet a bath, a nice massage and a nail trim.  Your pet will feel young and vibrant again.  A spa day is a great way to show your pet just how much you love them.

Everyone deserves to feel loved and appreciated. This Valentine’s Day, remember to include your furry loved ones.  You might just enjoy the experience as much as they do!  Please continue to follow our blog for more great information.  Give us a call if you need any help taking care of your loving pets.  Happy Valentine’s Day from Rover’s Recess!
